CASE STUDY
Whitelabeling a Health Video Platform For MTN
SignalADoc came to Bamsthetics with an exciting new opportunity: they wanted to white-label one of the products we had previously designed for them, this time for MTN, a major telecom company in Nigeria. The challenge was to adapt and scale their existing health video platform while preserving the core features, all while ensuring it aligned with MTN’s branding and user expectations.
Client Challenge
SignalADoc (a med-tech company that is creating platforms that bring health solutions to patients at their doorstep or vicinity) needed a version of their health video platform that could be seamlessly rebranded for MTN, while still retaining the core functionalities that had made it successful. The white-labeled product would be used to streamline healthcare services, but now for a much larger audience under the MTN banner. This required not only a change in design but also an adjustment in infrastructure to support the scalability and increased user base.
Project Goals
1. Seamless Rebranding for MTN:
We needed to adapt SignalADoc’s existing health video platform to fit MTN’s established brand identity. This required a complete UI/UX overhaul to incorporate MTN’s colors, typography, and design standards without compromising the core functionality and user experience of the original product.
2. Scalability for a Larger Audience:
MTN has a vast customer base, significantly larger than SignalADoc’s typical users. The goal was to ensure that the health video platform could handle an increased number of users without slowing down or compromising performance. This included optimizing the backend to ensure seamless scalability and stability.
3. Integration and Customization:
The third goal was to make necessary adjustments to integrate the platform with MTN’s existing systems. These customizations had to align with MTN’s operational structure while preserving the platform’s original purpose—streamlining access to healthcare services. This included enhanced security protocols and localized features to better serve MTN’s audience.
Our Design Process
At Bamsthetics, we understood that white-labeling required more than just superficial changes; it demanded careful attention to both branding and functionality.
1. Branding Alignment:
The first step was to ensure that the health video platform was fully aligned with MTN’s brand guidelines. This involved updating the UI/UX design, including MTN’s color schemes, fonts, and overall visual identity, while keeping the platform’s core experience intact. We focused on maintaining a clean, user-friendly design that resonated with MTN’s established user base.
2. Design Scalability:
Although Bamsthetics was responsible solely for the design, we paid close attention to ensuring that the interface would be scalable for MTN’s larger audience. We designed flexible, responsive layouts and user flows that would support the needs of a larger user base, while maintaining the simplicity and usability of the original product. This allowed the development team to implement the design without facing bottlenecks in user experience or interface performance.
3. Custom Features and Adaptation:
In addition to rebranding, we worked closely with SignalADoc and MTN to introduce custom features that catered to MTN’s specific needs. This included enhanced security protocols, integrations with MTN’s existing systems, and localized elements that better served the telecom’s customer base.
Challenges and Solutions
One of the primary challenges was maintaining the integrity of the original product while adapting it to MTN’s larger infrastructure and more diverse audience. There was a risk of compromising user experience if the transition wasn’t seamless.
We approached this by using an iterative process. We implemented the new branding and infrastructure in phases, testing each stage rigorously before moving forward. This allowed us to identify and address potential bottlenecks or performance issues early on, ensuring that the product could scale effectively without sacrificing quality.
Final Outcome
The white-labeled product launched successfully under MTN, with a seamless transition that was well-received by both SignalADoc and MTN’s users. The platform maintained its original efficiency while adapting to a broader audience, delivering the same high-quality user experience. The project demonstrated Bamsthetics’ ability to handle complex white-labeling processes while ensuring brand consistency, scalability, and functionality.
Result and Impact
- Seamless User Experience: The product retained its original ease of use while adapting to MTN’s branding.
- Improved Scalability: The infrastructure upgrades allowed the platform to handle a significantly larger user base.
- Positive Feedback: Both SignalADoc and MTN reported high satisfaction with the final product, citing smooth performance and strong brand alignment.
Bamsthetics truly exceeded our expectations. We approached them to white-label a product for MTN, and their design expertise made the process seamless. Their attention to detail, ability to align with our brand vision, and focus on creating an intuitive user experience were outstanding. The end result was a product that not only looked great but felt tailored to our needs. We couldn’t be happier with the collaboration and would highly recommend Bamsthetics for any design project.
